“Our environments can shape how we think and feel, making thoughtful design essential. It is important to me to leverage the power of environments to make people feel seen, known and welcomed.

I love connecting with people in the space where they feel most like themselves—their home.”

The Story of a Bell Sheep.

Bell Sheep Studio Logo
I first heard the story of a Bell Sheep when I was in elementary school. The simple story has stuck with me throughout the years, so I wanted to share my rendition of it with you...
— Leah

There was a good Shepherd who loved his flock and sought to protect them by day and by night. However, one of his sheep would continually stray from the rest. Out of a mixture of curiosity and rebellion she would find herself on a different path, seeking greener pastures than where the Shepherd was set to lead. It never failed however, that the Shepherd would patiently collect her and reunite her back with the herd, saying “I am your Shepherd, and you are my sheep, listen only to the sound of my voice.”

One day this little sheep found herself in grave danger. Her wandering led her right into a hole and her back legs were severely hurt. As it was getting dark, she began to hear the howling of wolves. She slowly lifted her head and to her relief, she saw the Shepherd’s face as he bent down and picked her up. He put her on his shoulders and carried her back to the flock. He continued to carry her that way until she was fully healed. From around his neck, she felt him breathe, listened to his heartbeat, and tried to understand every word he said. When she was able to walk on her own, she would still stick close to the Shepherd’s side. She wanted to be in his presence and desired to please him. To her delight, one day the Shepherd put a little bell around her neck and said, “I am your shepherd, and you are my sheep, you listen to the sound of my voice.”

Her bell would ring out for the other sheep to hear, and because she was always close to the Shepherd, they too could find their way.

May our homes be “bells” to our families, neighbors, and communities!
